#Repost from @chimchiminy with @repostapp tagged by @chimchiminy to tell my running story. I tried running when I was younger but I could never make it around the block so I always quit. Forward almost 20 years and I decided to try running again. I don’t remember who inspired me or why I started again. I started slower this time. I used the Galloway method (not knowing it had a name). I got stronger and could run longer but I never ran longer distances I kept my runs to 3-4 miles long. A little over 2 years ago I was talking with a friend about doing a 5k and she said she would do it with me. That first race was amazing, I loved crossing the finish line and hearing people cheering. It was then that racing became my new obsession. I started running longer distances. And decided after watching the Marine Corps half marathon runners that I wanted to run the thanksgiving day half. My training was erratic and I was completely freaked as I lined up for the start of the run but when I crossed that finish line I was so thrilled. Exhausted, sore but thrilled. That race began my love of the half marathon distance. To date I’ve run 13 halfs and way too many shorter runs. I still love to race and I race as often as I can. A year ago I met @idiotrunnergirl who was racing in a tutu and she instilled in me my love of racing in a tutu and having fun!!
